Our Challenges

Our 86 year old Chapter House requires continuous upkeep. The House Corporation Board (HCB) has kept up with an endless list of repairs and maintenance using extra funds annually, resulting from careful management. That model has kept 2005 competitive but has not allowed the HCB to “get ahead” of the curve.  Other sororities, including Kappa, have completed or planned extensive renovations in the past couple of years. The specific challenges include:

  • Dated décor and fixtures in bedrooms
  • Exterior wall damage and need for enhanced street appeal
  • Outdated common areas upstairs
  • Continued Greek facility updates on campus along with a multi-million dollar update to the Kappa House next door
  • Availability of first-class off-campus apartment complexes
